Adult Outpatient Services

The Westside Adult Outpatient Program provides outpatient mental health services with an emphasis on case management.  The program follows a harm reduction approach to treatment, delivering service to clients that are sensitive to individual lifestyle and behavioral choices.  Services offered by Westside Adult Outpatient Services are meant to address a wide spectrum of cultural differences as well as the broad array of mental health concerns presented by clients.  Treatment goals include the prevention of unnecessary crisis visits and hospitalizations, and promoting the highest level of independent living possible relative to the individual’s abilities, desired outcome, and community resources.

This program adheres to Central Access guidelines for accepting new referrals and plans services according to identified levels of impairment and medical necessity criteria. 

SERVICES

Adult Outpatient Program services include:

  • Individual and group counseling
  • Outreach intervention
  • Evaluation
  • Urgent care medication
  • Case management
  • Linkages to appropriate mental health outpatient services

STAFF

The Adult Outpatient Program Staff is comprised of a broad set of multicultural and multidisciplinary professionals.  The staff includes:  

  • Psychiatrist
  • Master Prepared Case Managers
  • Interns from Westside Post Doctoral Training Program

REQUIREMENTS

To receive treatment, a client must be:

  • 18 years or older
  • A San Francisco resident

REFERRALS

Clients cannot be referred to Adult Outpatient Services. Clients participate in the program as a result of being screen through San Francisco Central Access service.
